Call me crazy

Well, I'm back in good old Pullman, Washington visiting family. I've made it through the semester, and am through with two requisite classes I took with a professor that is somewhat lacking in his teaching ability. Don't get me wrong, he's a very committed Christian, but doesn't really cut it when it comes to being an instructor.

And in recent news - call me crazy, but I thought Ocean's Twelve was a really big disappointment. I was a big fan of the first movie, so I was expecting quite a bit from this one. But in watching the movie, I got the feeling that they came up with what could have been a good script, but then ruined it somewhere around the point where they had the not-so-brilliant idea of having Julia Roberts pretend to be herself.

I.e. in the movie, they acknowledge that she is in fact, the actress Julia Roberts. That was really lame. I would liken it to Obi-Wan saying to Anakin, "But wait, we can't fight, I'm Ewan McGregor." Ocean's Twelve breaks a cardinal rule of movie-making, which is - don't break character. Let the world you've created for your story to take place in remain as such. Anyways, that's just my two cents.
