Textpattern Studio

Belated Gratitude

When my site gets an award or is featured in a gallery, I normally am pretty punctual about noticing incoming links through my referral logs, and then posting a "Thank You" either on my own site or in the comments of the one that featured me. Anyway, it seems I have dropped the ball.

I suppose this one escaped my attention because it was during the hectic period of time getting ready for our move to Boise. I am quite remiss for not having acknowledged this sooner, because I never saw it in my stats. Now that it has been brought to my attention, I want to thank Textpattern Studio for featuring my site on August 31st, 2005.

So far, Idaho has the most features, as they have also listed Tattered Fly, the personal / fly fishing blog of my boss, Dan Bachman. Now, I'm no expert, but as far as I can tell, Dan knows more about fly fishing than any one person should. The site itself was done by my coworkers at Albertsons. Hugh Griffith designed it and Cody Lindley did the XHTML, CSS and sIFR.

Anyway, Textpattern Studio looks like it will be one to watch for up and coming designers who use the Textpattern CMS to manage their sites. I can't say enough good things about TXP. Since the 4.0 release, it's really starting to come into its own as a solid platform, now with error handling built-in.

Thame recently asked me to help write a few tutorial articles, in an effort to make the TXP learning curve a little less steep. Hopefully I'll have something useful to contribute. Until then, go check out the featured sites at Textpattern Studio, and if you're into fishing don't forget to bookmark Tattered Fly.
